Mr. Kouty Maweahn
Kouty H. Mawenh has served on the Board of Directors (BoD) of Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa (GPFA) since 2014. Currently, the Leader of Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly) Southeast SeniorCare Divison, Kouty has considerable experience in marketing, lobbying and operations management at Lilly and abroad. He is also Partner for both the US and Liberian-based ProSyte entities. Kouty earned a bachelor’s in political science and master’s in business administration from Butler University in 1995 and 1998, respectively. Prior to joining Lilly in 1998, Kouty worked for International Computer Programs, Inc. as Softinfo International Marketing Manager. Prior to his current role, Kouty held roles at Lilly in government affairs, marketing and managed healthcare services. A noted athlete, Kouty represented his home country of Liberia in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He is involved with many humanitarian and philanthropic societies, including Supplies for Overseas Schools (SOS) – Butler University’s International Charity, the Liberian Humanitarian Foundation and the Liberian National Paralympic Committee, the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa (GPFA) and the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa-USA (GPFA-USA). He is the owner of K-Delta’s Basketball Women’s Club in Liberia. Because of his commitment and dedication in promoting sports, Kouty has been highly recognized both in Liberia and the United States of America (USA). He is honored as Liberia’s Track and Field Ambassador and also received the highest civilian honor bestowed by the Governor of Indiana as the Sagamore of the Wabash.
