Transformative Leadership Initiatives (TLI)

The aim of the Transformative Leadership Initiatives program is to raise a generation of young African leaders committed to democracy and the peaceful transformation of their communities.

The following are projects under the TLI program:

  • Peace Through Fair Play (PTFP)

    This program activity seeks to promote peace and nonviolence throughout Africa by building youth competencies to become peace advocates and leaders in their communities and schools.

  • Violence Free Elections (First Time Voters)

    In preparation for the 2017 Liberian elections, GPFA partnered with local youth and women’s organization to carry out a “First Time Voters” campaign. The campaign aimed at sensitizing and training a cohort of 50 first time female voters on the importance of exercising their civic duty.

  • Young Women Leadership Program (YWLP)

    The Young Women Leadership Program is formulated to assist young women to build their skills, knowledge, and network to excel as leaders. It also helps to address some barriers young women face in reaching their leadership potential.

  • PeaceJam Liberia Youth Conference

    GPFA hosted its first PeaceJam conference in 2017. The conference is geared towards empowering young people to prioritize peace in all their doings.

  • Violence Free Elections (Sustain the Peace)

    Considering Liberia as a post-conflict country and the transitional of its first post-war elections.  The Foundation implemented its violence-free elections under the theme: “Sustain the Peace”. Three of Liberia’s higher populated counties benefitted from the community engagement meeting, training of first-time voters, vigorous awareness campaign and civic and voters education in Nimba, Montserrado and Margibi counties.
