GPFA Begins Finalist Schools Assessments for their Renovate to Educate Project

The Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa (GPFA) has begun assessing the schools selected for its Renovate to Educate Project. This is the first step toward improving Liberia's learning environments.

Launched earlier this year by GPFA’s Founder and President, Madam Leymah Roberta Gbowee, the Renovate to Educate Campaign focuses on renovating underdeveloped Liberian schools to create more supportive spaces for students and teachers.

Through this initiative, the Foundation seeks to address the physical conditions that affect teaching and learning. Safe, welcoming, and well-maintained educational spaces can help students engage more fully in their studies while supporting teachers in their work.

This week, our assessment team visited the Community House in Gbarnga, Bong County, and the W.J. Bertain Christian Institution in VOA, along the Robertsfield Highway. These assessments will help identify renovation needs and guide the next phase of the project.

The Renovate to Educate Project reflects GPFA’s continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities and supporting communities across Liberia. By investing in learning spaces, the Foundation aims to help more young people learn, grow, and pursue their potential.

Stay tuned for updates as we move from assessment to action.
